Dharamdev Pishormail Anand we all are known him Dev Anand was a great Indian film Actor, Writer, Director and also Producer. He was born on 26th September 1923 at Shakargarh in Punjab and died on 3rd Dec 2011 (age-88) in London.

Overall He is seen as truly outstanding and the best on-screen characters in the Indian film industry.

Dev Anand Father Mr.PishoriLal Anand Was an Advocate in Gurdaspur District Court in Punjab. He studied from Sacred Heart School, Dalhousie (then Punjab) to matriculation and went to Government College Dharamshala before studying in Lahore. Later, he obtained a BA degree in English Literature from Government College in Lahore, British India.

Dev Anand had a love affair with actress Surya for 3-5 years, but they never got married due to Surya's opposition to Nana. Suraiya remained unmarried until his death on 7 January. Dev was married to Kalpana Karthik (real name Mona Singh), a Bollywood actress at a private wedding shooting a taxi driver. Karthik was a Christian. They have two children, Sunil Anand, who is single and Devina Anand (Narang). Divya married at the age of 4, but divorced a few years later. Debina has a daughter, Jeena (Narang) (born 1986), who is married to fashion stylist Prayag Menon. Jeena is a professional photographer.

He later joined his elder brother, Chang, as a member of the Indian People's Theater Association (IPTA). He was soon offered the lead role in the morning films 'Hum Ek Hai' (1946), a film about Hindu-Muslim unity in which Dev Anand played the role of a Hindu boy and married against Kamala Kotnis Got bonded with. Anand was friends with actor Guru Dutt during the shooting of the film in Pune. Among them, they agreed that if one of them became successful in the film industry, it would help others succeed. They formed a mutual understanding that when Anand would produce a film, Dutt would direct it and when Dutt would manage a film, Anand would act in it.    


In The last decade of 1940 and romance with Suraya:                   
In the late sixties, Anand was offered several roles in the female-oriented film starring opposite male-lead singer-actress Suraya. They became romantically involved during the shooting of this movie. They Both(Anand & Suraya) were linked together in seven successful pictures: Vidya (1948), Jeet (1949), Shair (1949), Afsar (1950), Nili (1950), Do Sitare (1951) and Sanam (1951), all at the box office.

During the Afsar shooting, Anand finally offers to Surayi and gives her a diamond ring of three thousand rupees. His maternal grandparents opposed this relationship because they were Muslim and Anand Hindu and hence Suraiya was unmarried.

Dev Anand has composed 19 motion pictures and made 35 films. Of the 35 films made by him, 18 were monetarily productive in the true to life world and 10 of the 19 motion pictures facilitated by him were hits. He made stories for his 13 films. After 1970 Dev Anand was a versatile hero figure in various film like:- in 1971 acted Hare Rama Hare Krishna, and Kal aj Or Kal,  in the year-1973-   Sharmila Tagore in Yeh Gulistan Hamara, with Yogeeta Bali and Raakhee in Banarasi Babu, Chhupa Rustam, Heera Panna all are most famous figure film. Dev Anand was also politically active. He led several film personalities who stood against the pressing internal emergency of the then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. He campaigned actively against his supporters in the 1977 parliamentary elections. He also formed a party called the "National Party of India", which he later broke down.

Dev Anand died at the age of 88 on 3 December 2011 (4 December 2011 I.S.T.) in his room at The Washington Mayfair Hotel, London, due to cardiac arrest. He died a few months after the release of his last film Chargesheet. He was reportedly in London for a medical checkup at the time of Anand's death. On 10 December, his funeral service was held in a small chapel in London, after which his coffin was moved to Putney Valley Crematorium in south-west London. His ashes were brought to India for immersion in the Godavari River.
